Rough week...

Please excuse me taking so long to post, but I'm not exactly having the best week. I started big boy class this past Monday and I'm not adjusting to it very well. Monday I tried to walk to my old building and mommy directed me to another building. I didn't think that was a big deal...I thought maybe we were going on a trip, but then she got me to my classroom door and I realized then I was not going to my other building and class. So then I cried, cried and cried. Tuesday was about the same. I walked to my room, then cried. Wednesday I cried when we parked and today I cried as we drove up. I don't cry for very long after mommy leaves tho. In fact, Sydney, Madison, Morgan and Mason are all in my new class to, so I'm glad I still get to play with them each day. Due to all the crying, I haven't gotten to take any picutres with my new teachers, Ms. Ty, Ms. Denise & Ms. Johnny.

Mommy said I need to try and set a good example for Cody since he will be starting school next month. Right now he goes to work with mommy and plays. Wow, his job looks real stressful...
On top of moving to my 2 year old class, daddy started football Monday. That means I don't get to see him as much as I'm used to. I'll ask mommy for daddy and she says he's at work, so I just go hug her for a little bit, which helps.

I was a happy kid last week tho! Friday was my last day in the "baby building", so I got my teachers a present for taking such good care of me and teaching me so many fun things! Here I am handing Ms. Felicia the present. Then I told Ms. Heather byeMommy tried to take a picture of me with some friends...they cooperated and I did not. This is Sydney and Morgan. Morgan and I had the same hair style till I got mine cut. Here I am with Andrew climbing. He was my best climbing bud in the class. We played on the playground together a lot. And you can see my pal Mason peeping over from the floor.Friday when I got home from daycare, Mommy was no where to be found! JuJu was here and she told me that mommy had to go out of town for a wedding. JuJu is tons of fun, so I was ok with mommy being gone a couple nights. Here is mommy and Cody at the airport before she left.Daddy happened to be dropping a recruit off at the airport Friday to catch the same flight mommy was on, so he was able to visit with Cody and tell mommy bye. He made Cody smile!Mommy said she had delay problems in Atlanta and finally caught a flight to Baton Rouge at 11:20pm Friday. She said she was ok because her friend Ms. Teresa was able to get on the same flight with her.She said she had a great time at Ms. Casey's wedding and seeing all her college softball friends!Mommy got home Sunday, so JuJu thought it would be a good time for me to open my birthday present from her and Nona since they won't be here on my birthday. Nona wasn't there, but she sent the present with JuJu. This first one is the present from JuJu and Grandy...my first tricycle! and it's got "Cars" logos on it! I don't really ride it good yet, but just like anything else...I really like to push it! Thank you JuJu and Grandy!Next, JuJu sat this box in front of me with "Cars" all over it! I started ripping the paper...Can you see what it is?
YAY! My first lawn mower and I LOVE IT! It even blows bubbles, which i LOVE. Thank you Nona!

After we opened presents, we played and played. Here are a couple of my "birthday party" guests...
Cody and I layed under the jungle gym. I was teaching him how to play.Does this one confuse you?
After all that playing, it was time for bath.JuJu left on Tuesday, but she said she would be back soon! I know mommy will want her to come back as much as me since we won't be seeing daddy much now that football started. Thank you JuJu for the presents and coming to keep us while mommy went out of town!

The Haircut

Well Saturday was the big day. Take a look at these first 2 pictures and see if you know what we did...
That's right! I went for my first haircut at Rogers Barber Shop. Ms Jewel was the stylist that tackled the job! I didn't want to sit in the big chair by myself so mommy volunteered to let me sit in her lap. Ms. Jewel did many things to entertain me, such as giving me a comb, which I tried to comb her hair...
she gave me bugs bunny to play with
and I even tried taking her scissors.
While I was being somewhat cooperative, Cody was even better. He just took a nap during the event and daddy ran the video and took pictures.
After I saw my hair all over the place, I thought it was time to take the cape off and go, but Ms. Jewel was still chopping away, so I got hair all over me.

I wasn't so happy with this lady cutting my "chick magnet" curls off
but then she gave me a sucker, so I was happy with that. In fact I gave her a hug!
When we were leaving daddy told me we were fixing to go buy me some new shoes and then later to the splash pad! I was VERY excited about that!
After finding me some new kicks, we went back to the house and ate, then I took a nap. Mommy went canoeing while Ms. Gail came over and watched Cody. When I woke up from the nap, daddy, Mr. Tank and I headed to the splash pad. Then we all met up at home to get cleaned up to head to the Pierce's for their annual Hog Roasting. There, we got to see many friends!

I roamed around down by the creek with Mrs. Sabrina. There I found this fun orange bucket.
Then I posed for some shots of me with my new big boy haircut.

They started shooting fireworks once it got dark. The loud bangs from them scared me, but I like to say oooooohhhhhh when I saw them light up. Mommy held me while we watched and repeated oh and ah.
After such a long Saturday, we decided that Sunday was "pajama day". We found many fun things to do around the house. I rode my tractor around and decided to give "Rover" a ride as well.Cody just laid around...

More summer fun!

The other night, daddy had to leave the house, so mommy found a way to play with Cody and me at the same time without running all over the house. We went to Cody's room and I tried to teach him what to do in his jumperoo! Cody is still a little small for the jumper and yes I've outgrown the saucer, but we still had fun!Friday at work, mommy said Cody laughed out loud at her while he was being changed. He's smiling and laughing a lot now. It seems to be all he does when he's awake.
He laughed ...

and laughed....

and laughed!

Then he got tired from all the laughing and went to sleep.

Friday night was the kickoff to the Handy Festival. We all went to the parade downtown, then to Wilson Park to listen to the Midnighters. I had so much fun dancing to the music and running all over the place. The parents had to chase me a lot, so there was no time to get a camera out.

Saturday morning was nice, so we all headed to the pool. Daddy and I waited on the lounge chair together while mommy got Cody situated. Notice me sporting my new Nemo trunks! It was going to be Cody's debut day IN the pool, but it was a little too chili for him. Instead, mommy had to wrap in him towels on his lounge chair.
Mommy told daddy the other day that she thought I should be in swimming lessons. Daddy said he would take care of that! Here he is teaching me to swim all the way across the pool. We did it several times and I loved it!Meanwhile, Cody and Mommy relaxed in the sun. Mommy forgot Cody's hat, so I let him borrow mine. It's a little big for him now, but as fast as he's growing, it will fit perfect in no time! After the pool, of course came nap time. After our naps, we all got dressed and went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. Cody sat by daddy and I sat by mommy in the booth in my booster seat! I felt like a big boy...in fact I displayed myself to the resturant talkin back to mommy. She would tell me "no, no" and I repeated back to her "no, no, no". Then she would say "stop it" and I repeated back "stop it". The parents said "o boy! here comes the terrible 2s!"
But really, I'm not terrible. I'm so loving and playful. See! Cody always gets kisses from me and I love huggin and kissin mommy and daddy. With my 2nd birthday coming up, the parents are thinking I may need a haircut. What do you think?I may be rubbing off on Cody some with the "terrible 2s". He stuck is tongue out at mommy. HaHa kidding, but it looks like it.Sunday we went in the backyard to play for a while. I set the ball on the tee and swung the bat and hit the ball all by myself! I'm pretty much a switch hitter right now, so watch out Chipper Jones! After a fun weekend of playing, Cody got a bath. He is loving his baths now. The part he hates is getting out and the cool air hitting him while he's still wet. Mommy tries to cover him pretty quick so there is little to no crying.

Meet the Bowdens

Sunday rained for a little bit so we all stayed inside. Cody played under his jungle gymand I tried to hide from the parents in my bed. Can you find me?

Tuesday was a big special event for UNA football. It was "A Day With The Bowdens". Daddy's boss, Coach Terry Bowden got his dad, Bobby Bowden who is head coach at Florida State, and brothers Jeff and Tommy to come speak and meet the town of Florence and UNA. The parents went to the night event together. They got to meet Bobby and Tommy and then had their picture made with "Daddy Bowden" (Since Terry and Jeff are UNA coaches, they've already met them)
Uncle Ken and LeClair came for the event too. We went out to eat at Olive Garden Monday night. While the camera was out, the parents got a picture together without Cody or me in it. Notice in the picture how good daddy looks! He's been exercizing and dieting and has lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks. He said he had to make sure he could keep up with Cody and me.So I guess you're wondering where Cody and I were while this event was going on? Well Ms. Mollie came over to keep us. She got Cody to go to sleep right after the parents left and then she and I played and watched tv till the parents came home. Mom and Dad, she's a keeper!
